COVID Safety

INFECTION CONTROL

We’ve taken many steps to ensure patients can receive treatment at our clinic in a safe, secure, and hygienic environment. Here’s what we’re doing to help keep everyone safe:

PRE-SCREENING

All patients will be emailed a COVID 19 screening questionnaire to complete 2 hours before the appointment. If patients are feeling symptomatic, we’ll offer to change the appointment  to a virtual session that day and re-book their in person appointment.  Upon arrival at the clinic, the check in procedure will include: a) temperature check, b) confirmation that the screen has been completed, and c) confirming they have a mask. After the check in is successfully completed, patients will be allowed to enter the clinic and begin their treatment.

STAFF TRAINING AND DAILY SCREENING

All staff members will be asked to complete a daily COVID Screening Questionnaire and temperature check to determine their  “Fit for Work” status prior to entering the clinic every day. Our staff has been trained in proper hand hygiene practices using the Hand Hygiene E-Learning Module provided by Infection Control and Prevention Canada (IPAC). Our staff has also been trained in proper mask donning and doffing procedures.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Everyone will be asked to follow physical distancing guidelines while in the clinic. In order to eliminate crowding in the reception area, we’re asking patients to wait in their car when they arrive. Patients will use an online self-check in system to let the front desk know they’ve arrived, and the front desk will call patients in when their practitioner is ready for them. Our front desk team will be safely distanced behind a plexi-glass shield. We’ve also reduced the number of in-person appointments throughout the day to reduce the number of people in the clinic at one time.

ONLINE CHECK IN

To eliminate a crowded waiting room we’re asking patients to wait in their car/outside/in the building lobby until their appointment time and check in online to let the front desk know they’ve arrived. We’ll call patients when it’s time to come in.

DISINFECTION & SANITIZATION

We’ve implemented high frequency cleaning protocols for all areas of the clinic according to the Public Health guidelines. Treatment rooms will be disinfected after every patient and high touch areas in the front reception will be cleaned several times each day. The frequency of our cleaning procedures is above the Public Health standard and all procedures will be logged and tracked.

STAGGERED APPOINTMENTS

We’re scheduling 10-15 minutes between every patient to allow time for us to perform thorough cleaning before and after every patient. We’ve also reduced the number of in-person appointments to allow more time for cleaning throughout the day.

MASKS

To minimize the risk for everyone in the clinic, all patients and staff will be wearing masks at all times. If you don’t have a mask, we’ll have one available for you to purchase.

HAND SANITIZING

There are multiple hand sanitizing stations throughout the clinic.  We’re asking patients to sanitize upon entering the clinic, throughout the appointment as needed, and before leaving the clinic.  Our staff has been trained in proper hand hygiene practices using the Hand Hygiene E-Learning Module provided by Infection Control and Prevention Canada (IPAC). Our staff has also been trained in proper mask donning and doffing procedures.

BRING ONLY THE ESSENTIALS

Please only bring the essentials into the clinic with you.  Please leave jackets, bags or other non-essential items at home or in your car.

WASHROOMS

We kindly ask that you use your washroom before coming to your appointment. Our bathrooms will be available for emergencies only.

COMPANIONS

In order to prevent crowding in the clinic and facilitate physical distancing, we’re asking patients to come to their appointments alone unless they require a caregiver or guardian (for children under 18).
