Shoulder Pain

What most people call the shoulder is really several joints that combine with tendons and muscles to allow a wide range of motion to the arm, from scratching your back to throwing the perfect pitch. Mobility has its price, however and can lead to increasing problems that result in pain. You may feel pain only when the shoulder is moved, or all of the time. The pain may be temporary and disappear in a short time, or it may continue and require medical diagnosis and treatment. Shoulder problems can be related to an accident or trauma, or due to overuse of your muscles and joints during sports, exercise, everyday activities, or repetitive activities.

What are common causes of shoulder pain?

  • Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
  • Rotator Cuff Tear
  • Bursitis
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Shoulder Separation
  • Shoulder Dislocation
  • Arthritis

What is the treatment?

Determining the source of the problem in the shoulder is essential to recommending the right method of treatment. In fact, often what patients perceive a "shoulder pain" can actually be due to a neck or upper back problem. Physiotherapy, Massage therapy and osteopathy treatment are common and effective forms of treatment for shoulder pain. Our expert team at PhysioPlus Health Group can help identify the cause of your pain so you can start to feel better and return to the activities that you love to do, whether it be sports, exercise, or simply activities of everyday life.
