The key to being pain free could be right under your… toes!
Computerized foot and walking analysis now available!

PhysioPlus Health Group now offers the GaitScan system for computerized analysis of your feet and walking/running mechanics. This computerized analysis can help our practitioners assess and analyze your feet to detect abnormal foot function that may be affecting your feet or other parts of your body.
Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like a foundation of a house, your feet support the weight of everything above them. A small abnormality in foot function or mechanics can cause changes in your posture and walking mechanics. These changes can strain joints and tissues in the feet or higher up your body and lead to more serious problems.
The GaitScan computerized system records your foot mechanics and movement during gait as you walk or run across the pressure plate. It generates detailed information about your foot function, giving your practitioner a clearer picture of your foot mechanics. This enables your practitioner to provide you with more specific advice regarding proper footwear and determine whether you would benefit from wearing custom foot orthotics.
Orthotics are devices worn in your shoes that provide correction to your feet, helping them to function more efficiently. Poor foot function and alignment may be the cause of foot pain, hip pain, knee pain and back pain.
Prescription orthotics may help relieve your pain by re-aligning and stabilizing the bones in your feet, restoring your natural walking pattern.
Properly made orthotics are custom molded to the support requirements of your feet. They help restore the normal alignment of your body by gently correcting foot mechanics and alignment. They can be made to fit into all types of shoes including dress shoes and running or walking shoes, as well as into skates, skis and golf shoes.
The symptoms of poor foot mechanics can include any one of the following:
- Foot Pain
- Bunions
- Hammer Toes
- Arch or Heel Pain
- Knee or Leg Pain
- Back or Hip Pain
You can help by discussing your nagging foot, ankle, knee, hip or back pain with one of our practitioners, and even by asking yourself if you feet could be part of the problem. With springtime activities just around the corner it’s the perfect time to take care of your feet. Contact us to book an appointment today!
